Dr. Alistair Blair

“Dr. Alistair Blair” was selected as Executive Medical Director in April 2021. He served as the GP medical director since 2018. In this capacity, he represented patients’ interests at the highest levels of the organization and provided a clinical voice to the leadership team. Blair is still practicing medicine in Northumberland.

Dr. Alistair Blair was born and raised in Northumberland and became a GP in 1999. In addition to being a general practitioner partner at Valens Medical Partnership in the county, he served as NHS Northumberland CCG’s chair and clinical responsible officer from July 2012 until his arrival at Northumbria Healthcare in 2018.

Alistair has a long history of supporting clinical integration to benefit both patients and professionals. He served on the national board of NHS Clinical Commissioners. He has completed two assignments for Medicine Sans Frontiers (MSF) in conflict areas in Kenya’s Somali border region and Sri Lanka.
