Dr. Ayad Shafiq

Dr. Ayad Shafiq has worked as an ophthalmology consultant at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary since 2001. At Sunderland Royal Infirmary, he serves as an Honorary Consultant.

After first earning a master’s degree in natural sciences from Cambridge University, he went on to graduate from Oxford University Medical School.

Every year, he operates on more than 500 adult cataract cases. His patients benefit from his speed and ability, which make surgery quick, comfortable, and simple. Dr. Ayad Shafiq provides individualized care for each patient and addresses astigmatism. When necessary, he employs multifocal lenses.

He is also a member of the British Medical Association, Royal College of Ophthalmology, and North of England Ophthalmology.

Dr. Ayad Shafiq is a Specialist in ophthalmology and his qualification is FRCOphth, MRCpaeds, DCh, BA, BM, and BCh.
